Last updated: 18 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Neighbourly Tasks Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our website, mobile app, and services (the "Platform"). It applies to all users of the Platform and anyone who interacts with us via our website or email.
Brigby is a trading name of Neighbourly Tasks Ltd (company number 17164872).
We are the data controller. If you have questions, contact us at info@neighbourlytasks.com.
We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number: ZC127023.

- Location information: the postcode or area you want to find/offer tasks in.
- Task information: descriptions of tasks, photos, messages between users, prices agreed.
- Payment information: bank account details (for Helpers receiving payments). Card details are handled by Stripe; we do not see or store them.
- Reviews and ratings you leave or receive.
- Communications you send to us (support emails, messages).
Information we collect automatically
- Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
- Usage information: pages visited, features used, time and date of access.

2. How we use your personal data
We process your personal data for the following purposes, relying on one of the six lawful bases set out in UK GDPR:
Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b))
- Operating your account and enabling you to use the Platform.
- Processing payments and enabling transactions between Users.
- Providing customer support.
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f))
- Improving the Platform (we use anonymised/aggregated data where possible).
- Preventing fraud, abuse, and illegal activity.
- Ensuring the safety and security of our Platform and Users.
- Sending service-related emails (e.g., about an active task, not marketing).
Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c))
- Complying with tax, accounting, and legal reporting obligations.
- Responding to lawful requests from authorities.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a))
- Sending marketing communications (only if you have opted in — and you can withdraw consent at any time).
- Optional cookies used for analytics or advertising.
3. Who we share your personal data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Other Users: some of your profile information (name, rating, general location, profile photo) is shared with the other party to a task. We do not share your address or contact details until a task has been agreed.
- Service providers: including Stripe (payments and Helper onboarding verification), Firebase/Google Cloud (hosting and core infrastructure), and Microsoft (email). These providers are bound by contracts requiring them to protect your data. Stripe verifies Helpers' identity, address, and date of birth as part of payout onboarding, as required by UK financial regulations.
- Legal and regulatory authorities: where required by law, or to prevent fraud, protect our rights, or comply with a court order.
- In a business transfer: if we are acquired or merge with another business, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction (subject to equivalent data protection).
4. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g., Google Cloud, Stripe) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or adequacy decisions from the UK government.
5. How long we keep your personal data
- Account data: for as long as your account is active, plus 6 years after closure (to comply with tax and legal requirements).
- Transaction records: 6 years after the transaction (HMRC requirement).
- Identity verification records: up to 6 years as required for anti-fraud and regulatory purposes.
- Support correspondence: up to 3 years.
- Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent or after 3 years of inactivity.
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Restriction: request we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent: where we process on the basis of consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
- Not be subject to automated decision-making: we do not currently use fully automated decision-making that affects your legal rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@neighbourlytasks.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office:
- Website: ico.org.uk

7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and regular review of our security practices. However, no system is fully secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.
8. Children
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email or via the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it was last revised.
